Nordic Wolf Lavvu Tent Tyr
The Tyr from Nordic Wolf is a single-person lavvu tent made from cotton canvas. I have used it on several bushcraft trips and overnights in different configurations.
Material and Build#
The canvas weight sits in the middle range. It handles wind and rain and is still light enough to carry solo. Zippers and buckles are solid throughout, nothing sticks, nothing feels cheap. The one thing I modified: the eyelets for guying out are a bit tight. A few short paracord loops fix that in minutes.

In the Field#
Setup goes smoothly once you have practised it solo. The lavvu tent has one feature I’ve come to value on every campfire night: the door faces outward so you can look into the forest or up at the sky while lying down.
I have also worn the Tyr as a poncho and pitched it as a simple lean-to shelter. Both work. A standard tent can’t do either. If you need more space or a ready-made solution without experimenting, the Loki is the bigger option. More room, but less flexible in use.
